Summary This position will assist Duckhorn Wine Company’s Central Coast viticultural and winemaking team with grape sampling, scouting, grape evaluation, fermentation management and data entry during the 2019 harvest season.  *The estimated time frame for this position is July 29, 2019 through November 22, 2019.** The position will be located in San Luis Obispo or Paso Robles, CA * 

Essential Functions

  • Grape Sampling in Monterey, San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties.
  • Evaluate grape loads as they arrive at custom crush winery locations.
  • Maintain winemaking database and excel spreadsheets.
  • Taste and evaluate fermentation tanks.
  • Logistical support of winemaker and viticulturist as needed.
  • Special projects as needed.


  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Computer skills, including Excel and Word
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to drive, lift up to 50lbs, work in various temperatures/environments, and perform physical labor
  • Viticulture or Enology coursework a plus
