Regional Head of Production – Vegetable Seeds (1901769) – Parma, ID
Within the specified region, this position is responsible to implement and monitor the execution of the assigned production plan in order to ensure delivery of requested quantity and quality of seed is met in a timely fashion and on an economical sound basis.

Where the Chemistry Happens…

  • Utilize your Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree in Agronomy or related field
  • Seven years’ experience in seed production; with a strong knowledge of growing practices of assigned crops
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a managerial capacity.
  • Familiarity with production research practices and field plot techniques;
  • We are looking for a Team player; with excellent communication skills, who works well with others and has outstanding managerial capacities
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Computer competent; Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Responsible to maintain or adapt the region’s seed production infrastructure (3rd parties, growers or own farming) in order to realize requested quantity and quality of seeds.
  • Adequate execution in an economical sound fashion of the production orders in order to meet the requested quantities and quality in seed requested from the Global Production Managers in a timely manner.
  • Based on the crops’ strategic plan develop proposals on how to develop the region’s infrastructure in the long-term in order to ensure the capacity, efficiency and reliability of our seed production in the region.
  • Develop, improve and implement, in concert with Seed Production Research, the Quality Assurance department and the Global Production Manager, new production technology in the region’s crop management in order to increase the reliability and quality of yields.
  • In coordination with the Quality Assurance department to ensure all incoming lots meet company quality standards by monitoring crop inspection reports and collecting field data including rouging reports.
  • Monitor & review quality in all aspects of the growing crop including the supervision of field isolation, crop rotation, chemical application, and harvesting of production in order to ensure seed health.
  • Advise the Global Head of Production on the CAPEX, OPEX and FTE planning needed to maintain the regional production infrastructure to meet the production and inventory goals of the company.
  • Execute and monitor the CAPEX, OPEX and HC budget; propose actions to maintain efficiency and financial compliance. Manage, direct, and coordinate the personnel flow within the department, including appraisal, training and development and career planning by using HR instruments, guidelines, procedures and advice in order to select and maintain competent employees and ensure an efficient and effective functioning department
