Active Couple seeks an experienced Gardener/Property Manager to provide full-time attention to the restoration, daily management, upkeep and care of their Sands Point estate. The G/PM will oversee the client’s 5-acre estate including their 10,000 sq. ft. home and other buildings on the premises. Qualified candidates must have significant private service/luxury hospitality experience on an estate. Oversight and management of vendors from grounds people to construction workers. Position reports to the Estate Manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Managing and providing full-time care for a 5-acre property

· Assist in restoring the property’s grounds

· Constant interaction and communication with local laborers

· Additional grounds keeping and horticultural responsibilities as needed and per request

· General Handyman type task and construction oversight

· Overall maintenance and care of the property including grounds and all structures, this includes overseeing others as well as ‘hands-on” execution. Produce maintenance schedules for all buildings and equipment and ensure schedules are adhered to.

· Seasonal care of grounds including garden care and maintenance, leaf removal, snow plowing etc. Must be able to oversee and assist when needed with performing these functions.

· Conduct or oversee general maintenance tasks, repairs and improvement projects for the property, structures, vehicles and equipment etc. Ensure all work areas, equipment and vehicles are kept clean and in working order.

· Source, hire and oversee work of other parties when required (e.g. electrician, plumber, HVAC, carpentry, gardening help etc.) Includes checking credentials, insurance, references and getting quotes as well as coordinating access/entry and overseeing the quality of work.

· Check on house and grounds as required (including weekends when owners are not here). Liaise with other parties for approved access as necessary.

· Serve as the point person in emergencies – e.g. weather-related issues, black-outs/brown-outs, security alarm. Immediately inspect and secure property and inform owners and any other necessary parties (e.g. security co.) and authorities.

· Perform other property/household related tasks as needed, including running errands, purchasing supplies, party set-up and clean-up, etc.


· Formal Horticulture education

· Proactive with excellent managerial skills

· Professional mindset with the utmost discretion

· Excellent references required from both current and previous employers

· Minimum 5+ year’s related experience working in a private estate

· Experience on a working farm or estate

· Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities

· Flexibility with hours and scheduling; willing to work long hours and overtime as needed

· Valid driver's license required; confident driver; zero points on license

· Legally able to work in the United States
