Nature and Purpose: The Farm Field Harvest Foreman is an integral position in the communication of farm activities. This person must be able to communicate the jobs that are vital to farm operations as to keep functions within budgetary needs. They need to effectively transmit to field employees: job functions, safety standards and requirements, timeliness of work. This person needs to have short-term and long-term vision to be able to maximize product quality and increase production of seed produced on the farm.  These efforts include any other task assigned in the function of the farm.


  • To direct the daily field activities for all tractor drivers and supervise work to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • To keep a log of all daily field activities and report any discrepancies
  • To train new workers and ensures they are able to safely and effectively operate equipment
  • To participate in work activities to expedite workload as needed
  • To help troubleshoot equipment issues in the field and ensure all required supplies are available
  • To confer with Farm Manger to ascertain production requirements and communicate any issues with meeting harvest targets and deadlines
  • To work with other Farm Foreman collaboratively in finding more efficient ways of do thing on the farm.
  • To perform other duties as directed by the Farm Manager.

Required Skills:

  • Bilingual: English/Spanish
  • High school diploma or equivalent degree
  • 2-5 years in a Farm Foreman position
  • Tractor Experience
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of various field implements
  • Experience with operating equipment and performing minor repairs/troubleshooting
  • Assist in leading the safety committee
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Strong documentation skills


  • Prior experience in a fixed crop environment
  • Knowledge of tree pruning techniques is desired
