General ResponsibilitiesToutle Lake School District is seeking a qualified and passionate educator to serve as a Long-Term Substitute Career & Technical Education (CTE) Agriculture Teacher. This position supports student learning in agricultural science, natural resources, and environmental systems while promoting leadership development through FFA and hands-on instruction.
Position Details:
- Schedule: Full-time, long-term substitute assignment
- Duration: August 26,2026 - December 18, 2026
- Compensation: Daily substitute rate per district schedule. After 20 days, the position will transition to the certificated salary schedule for the remainder of the assignment.
- Benefits: Not applicable
- Not eligible to substitute for other certificated teaching positions during assignment.
Essential Functions
- Teach CTE agriculture courses aligned with Washington State standards.
- Create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment.
- Maintain accurate student and program records.
- Assess and monitor student progress.
- Communicate with students, families, and staff regarding progress and expectations.
- Support student leadership leadership organizations such as FFA, as assigned.
- Supervise students in classroom and school settings.
Other Functions
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by school administration, including participation in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and student supervision as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate and background in Agriculture.
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
- Ability to integrate hands-on learning, leadership development, and career readiness skills into instruction.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and support district goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of agricultural education and FFA.

Employment Requirements:
- Clearance of Washington State Patrol and FBI Criminal History Background check.
