Seed Program Agronomist - Idaho

Position Summary
The Seed Program Agronomist will serve as the primary seed expert for The Arthur Companies' Idaho operations, coordinating all aspects of seed logistics, evaluation, and vendor partnerships. This individual will manage seed supply for regional needs, explore and trial new varieties, and work closely with both growers and vendors to ensure our team has access to the most competitive, high-performing products. The role requires a strong balance of agronomic expertise, operational coordination, and relationship-building, with a passion for driving innovation in seed selection and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all seed logistics for the Idaho team, including sourcing, ordering, inventory management, and distribution
- Evaluate and trial new seed varieties across crops, collecting data on yield performance, disease resistance, and adaptability to regional conditions
- Serve as the go-to seed expert for internal staff and growers, providing insights, technical support, and recommendations on seed performance and best practices
- Build and maintain strong relationships with seed vendors, including negotiating contracts, pricing, and delivery terms
- Stay current with advancements in seed genetics, treatments, and trait technologies to ensure the Idaho program remains competitive
- Collaborate to share findings from seed trials and provide input into long-term product strategies
- Track, analyze, and report on seed performance and usage to support operational and strategic decisions
- Support grower engagement through field days, one-on-one consultations, and technical presentations
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Science, or related field preferred; high school diploma required
- 3+ years of experience in seed programs, agronomy, or crop production
- Strong understanding of seed genetics, treatments, and regional agronomy
- Experience with vendor negotiations and supply chain coordination preferred
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and balance operational logistics with agronomic evaluation
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with growers, vendors, and internal teams
- Passion for serving as a trusted seed expert and resource for the organization
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel within Idaho and surrounding regions
