Ag Sales Representative Location: Garner, NC, 27529 Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Ag Sales Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture and sales, with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets. The Ag Sales Representative will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with customers, promoting and selling agricultural products, and providing excellent customer service. This position requires a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Greet customer on sales floor and determines make, type and quality of merchandise desired. Offer directions to other locations in the store
- May provide assistance with merchandise as needed to the register and/or to a customer’s vehicle.
- Drives gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift to push, lift, stack, tier or move and/or load products, equipment or material.
- Research items and product information in sales catalog for customers, and makes phone calls to the purchasing department to secure items for customers.
- Display merchandise, suggests selections that meet customer’s needs, and emphasizes selling points of article such as quality and utility.
- Prepare sales ticket, writes up and follow through on special orders.
- Wrap or bag merchandise for customer.
- Take inventory out of overstock as needed to fills in gaps in merchandise during store hours and to maintain adequate inventory levels in their department.
- May train and assist new employees in department.
- Pass along information for new stock items to the managers. Informs managers of any quality control problems with stock.
- Perform price changes on items in the department.
- Maintain work area that is neat, clean and attractive to all customers.
- Ensure all items are properly labeled.
- This position reports directly to the store manager however they will receive day to day assignments from their sales lead, assistant store manager, training coordinator, or visiting upper management.
- Any and all other duties assigned by management
- Previous experience in agriculture and sales
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
- Knowledge of agricultural products and industry trends
- Valid driver's license
- We have multiple sales departments throughout our retail store (Ag, Lawn and Garden, Trailer Accessories, Sporting Goods etc.). You may be assigned to one or asked to rotate through multiple departments. You will be trained in the area(s) you will work.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals.
