Ranch Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced, dedicated, and personable Ranch Manager to oversee the cattle operations of our family-owned and operated 8,500-acre ranch in Saint Jo, Texas. This pivotal role requires a self-motivated individual with a profound understanding of cattle operations, land management, and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will integrate seamlessly with our family's values and commitment to the ranch's long-term success.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of a cow/calf operation, including breeding, calving, weaning, and marketing.
- Manage our summer and winter stocker calf program.
- Manage supplemental feed and hay feeding, mineral application, and track inventory.
- Plan and manage pasture rotations for optimal grazing and rangeland health.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of cattle inventory, health, breeding, movements, and production data.
- Manage our other full time ranch cowboy.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of proven experience in ranch management, with a strong emphasis on cattle operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in pasture and rangeland management, including grazing planning and weed/brush control.
- Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and effectively manage staff.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with USDA programs administered by the FSA and NRCS is a plus.
- A strong sense of honesty, integrity, and a passion for ranching and agriculture.
