Three Bar Ranch is seeking an experienced Ranch Manager to lead the operations of a 10,000-acre, 600 head cow-calf operation in Central Montana. This role combines hands-on ranching with strong leadership, operational oversight, and active collaboration with ownership.

The Ranch Manager is responsible for setting direction, executing operations, and ensuring alignment with the ranch’s long-term goals. This includes leading and developing a small team, maintaining clear and consistent communication with engaged family owners, and managing relationships with neighbors, vendors, and partners.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leadership & Team Management: Hire, train, and lead a small team while fostering a safe, accountable, and respectful work environment
• Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate regularly with ownership, providing updates, operational insights, and strategic input; build strong external relationships
• Operational Excellence: Plan and oversee all ranch activities, including grazing, hay production, infrastructure maintenance, and capital improvements
• Livestock Management: Ensure the health and productivity of the herd, including calving, breeding (AI and natural), feeding, health programs, and shipping
• Planning & Execution: Develop and implement annual plans, budgets, and improvement initiatives while making sound, independent decisions day-to-day

The ideal candidate brings proven leadership ability, strong operational management skills, and deep hands-on experience in cow-calf operations, especially calving and winter feeding. This is a role for someone who can lead from the front—balancing strategic thinking with daily execution—and who values accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
