About MCC
Metropolitan Community College is the oldest public institution of higher learning in Kansas City, Missouri, founded in 1915 as the Kansas City Polytechnic Institute. The Junior College of Kansas City, as it was known starting in 1919, was one of the first schools in the country to award an associate degree. Today, MCC offers 125 associate degree and certificate programs.
Metropolitan Community College comprises five campuses (including MCC-Online) on the Missouri side of the Greater Kansas City area 47 major buildings and about 550 acres in all: MCC-Blue River, located in Independence, Missouri; MCC-Longview located in Lee's Summit, Missouri, MCC-Maple Woods located in the Northland of Kansas City, Missouri; and MCC-Penn Valley, located in Midtown Kansas City, Missouri.
MCC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. In addition, several programs have specific accreditations as well.

Job Summary
Application materials for this position is accepted on an on-going basis due to increasing demand.
Incumbents maintains and prepares laboratory chemicals and experiments for all science laboratories, in addition to providing instructional support. This position is employed by Agriculture.
This position is grant-funded and is limited to the period of August 2025 through August 2028. Employment beyond this timeframe is not guaranteed and will depend on future funding availability.
- Assist with activities in the lab, including cleaning lab after classes.
- Set up supplies and material for Soils Science/Animal Science/Meat Science lab classes.
- Maintain supplies and inventory for the lab.
- Assist with supplies purchasing for lab use.
- Set up and prepare lab classes before lab classes.
- Assist with educational and outreach activities related to the agriculture lab.
- Follow up lab classes with clean up and organizational needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma OR G.E.D
- One (1) year of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework in agriculture, biology or related subjects
- Experience working with plants
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with all constituencies of an inclusive community
- Ability to work well with others
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically requires feeling, grasping, hearing, keyboarding, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.
