Job Description Primary Location Chino Valley High School Salary Range $15.25 / Per Hour Shift Type Part-Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

• This position involves maintaining the Cooper Ag Center and farm directly supervised by Cooper Ag Farm Manager. This is a 6 month job.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure safety procedures are followed and personal protective equipment is utilized
• Property weed control
• Watering fields
• Fertilize fields
• Planting fields
• Baling fields
• Livestock care and feeding
• Security of the premises while working
• Maintenance of equipment
• Keeping roads maintained
• Fencing maintained
• Small pivot repair
• Cleaning up debris or other things that would tarnish the look of the Cooper Ag Center
• Putting lists together of items needed and giving to the Farm Manager
• Student Assistant will not cut nor mow the farm fields

QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 16 years old or older.
• Must be able to obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Osha-10 Agriculture
• Continuously follows safety procedures & utilizes personal protective equipment
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Good communication skills; listening, following directions, and speaking.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. is required.
• Physical capabilities to operate heavy machinery and conduct continuous manual labor.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Completed or enrolled in 3rd year of AgriScience program at CVHS.
• Knowledge and related experience with farming & heavy machinery desired.
• OSHA-10 Agriculture Certification
• Active CVHS FFA Chapter Member with participation in Career & Leadership Development Events.
