The Livestock Tech is responsible for assisting in the care of livestock responsibilities required for the day to day operations and maintenance of the livestock/farm areas.

Pay Range: $14.00–$15.00 per hour. Starting compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and other job-related factors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Responsible for caring for all livestock including; Sheep, Llamas, Chickens, Ducks & Turkeys
• Maintains and sanitizes the livestock/farm buildings
• Repairs and maintains fences and other structures
• Assists in observing, reporting, and treating (within reason) any signs of disease/disorders in livestock
• Assists with pasture seeding, maintaining, and rotation of grazing paddocks
• Assists in safety procedures and understands all sanitation safety
• Understands State of TN Livestock standards & requirements
• Ensures all livestock are fed according to scheduled times
• Promotes the livestock program as often as possible
• Develops and adheres to farm plan, including animal health and nutrition protocol
• Assists Garden staff in garden maintenance and harvest when daily livestock duties are completed
• Alerts Farmstead Manager when extra labor help or supplies are needed to complete tasks

Regular and consistent attendance is required to perform the essential functions of this position.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers, and interact with our guests.

• No Supervisory Responsibility
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
• High School diploma or equivalent (college Animal Science training a plus)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, managers, and team members
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
• Basic knowledge and understanding of math
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to be on feet for the majority of the day
• Must be able to operate a golf cart or company vehicle safely
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Dairy/Livestock Barn Facility
• May occasionally be asked to go outside in all weather conditions
