Job Responsibilities
1. The overall care of turkeys on the farm that is consistent with good turkey husbandry set forth by company policies, which will maximize Grow Out operation profits by planning, organizing, directing, and controlling live production on the farm to achieve least cost meat production which meets company specifications
2. This position will rotate between Dunbar and Ray's Ranch as scheduled.
Minimum Qualifications
* Cannot own or raise any type of fowl (i.e. turkeys, chickens, geese, pheasants, parakeets, etc.)
* Able to meet all Grow Out sanitation requirements
* Basic mechanical skills/brood facility care of poults up to 7 weeks
* Able to work scheduled weekends or holidays
* Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record
* No performance work actions in the last 6 months
* No attendance work actions in the last 6 months
* PHYSICAL: Able to work in dusty environment with ammonia present in all weather conditions
* Able to twist/stoop/bend/squat/lift/carry/reach-handling turkeys/equip/feed/litter >50# from occasionally to frequent basis
* Ability to use respiratory protection
Preferred Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Previous turkey experience and/or farm background
* Possess good communication and supervisory skills based on experience or training
Response Process
To be considered for this position you must have completed six (6) months in your present position. Team Members with less than six (6) months may be considered for promotion or transfer based on the needs of the company.
At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is listed in the posting, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
