Heavy Equipment Operator / Mechanic – North Texas

We are looking for a dependable Heavy Equipment Operator / Mechanic to support ongoing farm, road, and dirt work projects in North Texas. This is a full-time, hands-on position involving operation and maintenance of farm and heavy equipment. On-site housing is provided.

The right candidate is comfortable running equipment in the field and working in the shop to keep machines operating reliably.

Responsibilities

  • Operate farm and construction equipment for land prep, dirt work, and road maintenance, including disking, drilling, planting, grading, and general site work.
  • Operate skid steers, loaders, tractors, dozers, and other equipment as needed.
  • Drive an 18-wheeler to haul rock and materials for road repair and infrastructure projects.
  • Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on agricultural and heavy equipment.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues and complete repairs efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain tools, service records, and parts inventory.
  • Assist with hay operations including cutting, raking, baling, hauling, and stacking.
  • Perform general property and infrastructure maintenance including roads, fences, gates, barns, and equipment sheds.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience operating and maintaining heavy equipment, agricultural machinery, or diesel equipment.
  • Strong mechanical skills with experience in hydraulics, electrical systems, engines, and drivetrains.
  • Comfortable operating tractors, skid steers, loaders, dozers, and hay equipment.
  • Experience with dirt work, land prep, or road construction preferred.
  • Experience driving an 18-wheeler is a plus. CDL preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical labor.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay is competitive and based on experience. $125-$145 per day, plus housing

On-site is available.
