Job Summary
This position is responsible for maintenance on the farm as well as assisting grooms and director with horse related activities (feeding, turning horses in/out, feeding hay, getting ready for trail rides, guiding trail rides, etc) as needed. Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed. *This position requires previous horse experience.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Mending fences
• Repairing equipment
• Painting
• Operating tractor
• Operating heavy equipment
• Mowing
• Brush Hogging
• Power washing
• As needed:

• Assist in feeding horses, cleaning stalls, cleaning the barn.
• Untacking, grooming and putting horses out.
• Maintaining a clean tack room and saddling area.
• Providing hay and water during down/rest times.
• Assisting with other activities as needed.
• Bathing horses.
• Participate and assist in staff training and development, team building events or other events as necessary.
• Assist with birthday parties, leading pony rides, conducting other pony activities such as Paint the Pony and Pretty Pony.

Skills and qualifications
• Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate verbally.
• Attention to detail and pro-active thought process.
• Great customer service skills including engaging with guests, listening carefully and ensuring a quality product is delivered each time.
• Must have previous horse experience (riding experience a plus) and be competent working with and around horses.
• Ability to foresee problems that may arise due to environment or circumstances.
• Critical thinking skills, ability to think quickly and respond to issues and emergencies that may arise.
• Ability to exercise patience when dealing with guests, children and horses.
Physical Requirements
This position requires complete mobility and the ability to withstand extreme outdoor environments. Must be able to stand, sit and/or walk a minimum of 8 hours daily and have the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
