About Wanner Farm
The Wanner Farm was established in 1914 and remains a family operation with two generations working on the farm today. The Wanner Farm is a diversified operation that includes both crop and cattle production with the primary focus being crops.
Precision agriculture practices and innovation are important aspects of the company culture for both crop and cattle production. In addition to managing the farm, Scott and Phillip are independent crop consultants for area farmers.
Currently, there are four people involved on the operation today – Scott, Carrie, Phillip and Shaye. All members of the operation have their preferred areas, but it is a team effort where everyone helps in all areas.
Job Description
The Wanner Farm is looking for a full-time employee or intern to aid in day-to-day farm operations, spring planting, harvest and cattle work.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Equipment Operation
- Equipment Maintenance
- Cattle Handling and Care
- Fence and Corral Maintenance
- Hay Production
- Any Other Day-to-Day Farm Activities
- Crop Scouting (depending on candidate interest and skill level)
Requirements
Applicants must be 18 years or older and hold a valid driver’s license. Prior production agriculture experience is preferred but not required. Applicants must be willing to relocate.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation is negotiable depending on the candidate's skillset and performance. Housing is not provided, but assistance in locating housing is offered. Mentorship in crop consulting and precision agriculture is also an opportunity depending upon the interest of the applicant.
