Summary:
Our ideal candidate will be passionate about the Mission of Greenacres and our values. Greenacres Lewis Township is a working, generative farm located in Felicity, Ohio, running cattle, sheep, hogs, chickens, and turkeys in a multi-species grazing rotation. We are looking for hard-working, quality-minded candidate with farm/livestock experience. An interest in sustainable agriculture is preferred. Our Farm Hand will complete required tasks including hay feeding, grain feeding, husbandry tasks, temporary fence lines, waterline repair, pasture rotations, stall cleaning, animal housing maintenance, medical treatments, and continual observation of animal behavior to determine wellbeing. Operating farm equipment and implements is required for the completion of tasks.

Responsibilities:
- Perform daily livestock care and health checks for cattle, laying hens, pastured poultry, sheep, and hogs, ensuring animal wellbeing at all times
- Inspect, maintain, and repair animal infrastructure including fencing, water systems, and forage availability
- Use proper and humane animal handling techniques and assist with moving livestock through pasture rotations
- Maintain accurate records of daily chores, animal care, and observations
- Clean and maintain livestock facilities to ensure safe, healthy environments
- Install, maintain, and repair temporary net fencing
- Perform pasture maintenance using regenerative practices, including bush hogging, weed eating, and no-till planting of diverse annual and perennial grass mixes (no herbicide use)
- Operate and maintain farm equipment including tractors with pull-behind implements and front loaders, skid steers with bucket, fork, and auger attachments, and PTO-driven equipment
- Safely operate trucks, trailers, hand tools, and power tools for farm operations and repairs
- Support and facilitate educational programs and visitor experiences across the farm
- Ability to work outdoors year-round using open cab XUV for transportation in all weather conditions.
- Experience with livestock (cattle, poultry, sheep, and/or hogs preferred)
- Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in agricultural environments including barns, pastures, and handling facilities
- Experience operating farm equipment and hand/power tools
- Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
- Ability to work 25–30 hours per week, including occasional weekends
- Willingness to travel occasionally to additional Greenacres farms
- Commitment to teamwork and collaboration
- Ability to successfully pass a post-offer pre-employment drug test and fingerprint FBI background screen.
- Ability to work with both internal and external partners with the same or very different backgrounds to ensure that all who visit
