Our farm relies on a combination of staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure that healthy produce reaches those who need it most. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Farm Assistant who is passionate about agriculture, community service, and making a meaningful impact.

Position Summary

The Farm Assistant supports day-to-day farm operations and works closely with the Farm Manager to help maintain productive fields, greenhouses, and harvest operations. This role also involves assisting with volunteer groups and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for all who visit the farm.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with planting, cultivating, weeding, and harvesting a variety of crops
• Support greenhouse operations and seasonal farm projects
• Help prepare produce for distribution to partner agencies
• Assist with set-up, coordination, and guidance of volunteer groups
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and work areas
• Follow all safety and food-handling guidelines
• Perform other farm-related duties as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Interest in farming, food systems, or nonprofit work (prior farm experience preferred but not required)
• Ability to perform physical labor in all weather conditions, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Comfortable working with volunteers of all ages and backgrounds
