Position Summary
The University of Idaho Extension Eastern District seeks a 12-month, tenure-track Extension Educator with the rank of Assistant Professor for Bear Lake County, providing leadership for multifaceted livestock (50%), agriculture (30%), and 4-H Youth Development (20%) programs. They will collaborate closely with county partners, commissioners, and community organizations to ensure programs meet local needs and align with University and Extension priorities. The position includes conducting scholarly work (5%) and contributing to University leadership and service, including county chair duties (15%). This position receives an annual flat rate administrative stipend of $1,500 for County Chair duties.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in animal science, agricultural science, Extension education, or a closely related discipline. The degree must be completed by the date of hire. Experience providing organizational structure and support for a variety of individuals and groups Experience in adapting research materials for effective oral and written presentations Experience recruiting, teaching, organizing and managing groups Experience using technology for program delivery, reporting and teams-based communication
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to work well in a team and provide effective instruction, support, and marketing for programs Previous experience working in Extension Experience in disseminating results through scholarly outlets Experience with supervising, leading, and mentoring others
