The Batesville School District is seeking a passionate and motivated Agriculture Teacher (Grades 9–12) to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is dedicated to agricultural science, student leadership, and hands-on learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom.

At Batesville High School Charter, our Agriculture program is built on collaboration, innovation, and student success. We are looking for an educator who is eager to help students grow academically, personally, and professionally while building a strong and active FFA program.

Position Highlights

  • 240-day contract with summer action plan opportunities
  • Lead and manage a dynamic Agriculture Science program
  • Work alongside a collaborative Agriculture teaching team
  • Advise and grow an active FFA chapter
  • Coordinate engaging student experiences including:
    • Local and state fair competitions
    • Plant growing and sales projects
    • Leadership development activities
    • Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs)
    • School and community beautification projects

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging instruction in agricultural science and technology
  • Support students’ intellectual, emotional, social, and career development
  • Develop and supervise SAEs for students
  • Serve as the local FFA advisor and promote leadership opportunities at the district, state, and national levels
  • Maintain and supervise agricultural facilities, laboratories, equipment, and safety procedures
  • Collaborate with fellow Agriculture teachers on curriculum, projects, and FFA activities
  • Foster strong relationships with students, families, and the community

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Valid Arkansas teaching certification demonstrating competency in Agricultural Science
  • Strong knowledge of agricultural science and technology
  • Effective classroom management and instructional skills
  • Ability to supervise field experiences and student projects
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage facilities, equipment, and program resources collaboratively
