As an Agronomy Sales Specialist, you’ll partner directly with local growers to help them maximize yield, improve profitability, and strengthen long-term relationships with the cooperative. You’ll provide trusted agronomic advice, deliver tailored crop-input solutions, and actively grow market share through excellent service and strategic sales execution.

What You’ll Do
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with area growers through proactive service and solution-based selling.

  • Recommend the best seed, fertilizer, crop protection, and treatment plans to optimize yield and return on investment.

  • Scout fields regularly for pests, weeds, and diseases, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

  • Execute marketing and sales plans to achieve sales goals and expand territory market share.

  • Conduct on-farm visits, schedule appointments, and perform occasional cold calls to develop new business.

  • Stay informed on competitive pricing, product launches, and market trends; report insights to management.

  • Leverage ag-tech tools and data to enhance recommendations and improve grower efficiency.

  • Submit weekly sales call reports and maintain accurate customer records.

  • Support cooperative credit policies and work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and professional development as requested.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Business, Marketing, or related field — or equivalent combination of education and experience (5+ years total).

  • Minimum 2 years of agronomy experience and 2 years of outside sales experience.

  • Strong knowledge of soil science, crop nutrition, and pest management principles.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ag-tech software tools.

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.

Working Conditions
  • Mix of office, field, and farm-visit environments.

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.

  • Must occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
