PAY RANGE: $56,000 to $61,000 / year

Compensation is determined based on your experience and qualifications.

In addition to base pay, you may be eligible for overtime, commission, performance-based increases, and bonuses.

The Agronomy Associate I play a key role in supporting and enhancing agronomic operations by applying advanced agronomic knowledge and skills. This role involves conducting detailed fieldwork, analyzing soil and crop data, assisting with complex product applications, and providing expert technical support to agricultural customers. The ideal candidate has significant experience in agronomy, excellent problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills.

 

Key Responsibilities

Verifies customers' creditworthiness, provides quotes and terms, prepares sales contracts, and promotes credit programs to facilitate sales.

Works under the guidance of a Crop Specialist and Location Manager to develop crop programs, ensuring accurate record-keeping, tracking customer plans, and using digital systems to enhance the customer experience.

Provides customer service by scheduling product deliveries, applications, and soil testing while conducting field visits to monitor crop health, identify pests and diseases, and assess nutrient levels.

Builds and maintains strong customer relationships by offering ongoing agronomic support, updates, and consultations to address specific challenges and opportunities.

Conducts territory and competitor analyses while staying informed on market trends, industry advancements, and regulatory changes in agronomy.

Utilize precision agriculture tools to gather and interpret field data.

Provide expert advice on planting, fertilization, irrigation, and pest control practices.

Maintain detailed records of field activities, sample analyses, and agronomic recommendations.

 

Required Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Crop Science, or a related field.

Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

Proficient in using precision agriculture tools, techniques, and agricultural management software.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong understanding of agronomy practices, crop production, and pest management.

Advanced knowledge of agronomic principles and practices.

Ability to work hours other than those considered normal at various times throughout the year to meet deadlines and demands.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable recommendations.

Physical ability to perform extensive fieldwork and operate agricultural equipment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This position requires driving for extended periods and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.

Provide exceptional customer service.
