- Instruction & Curriculum
- Plan and deliver lessons in plant science, animal science, soil science, agribusiness, environmental science, and agricultural mechanics
- Align instruction to state standards and incorporate real-world applications
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs)
- Guide students in developing and maintaining individualized, hands-on projects (e.g., livestock, gardening, small business)
- Monitor student progress and provide ongoing feedback
- Conduct site visits as needed
- FFA Advising & Leadership Development
- Serve as advisor for the National FFA Organization chapter
- Prepare students for competitions and leadership events
- Coordinate community service and leadership development opportunities
- Laboratory & Shop Management
- Oversee agricultural labs, greenhouses, farms, or mechanics shops
- Maintain equipment and manage inventory
- Ensure safety procedures and protocols are followed
- Student Engagement & Classroom Management
- Establish a positive classroom culture and clear expectations
- Manage student behavior effectively
- Build strong relationships to support student success
- Program Development & Community Relations
- Build partnerships with local farms, businesses, and community organizations
- Promote the agriculture program and coordinate events
- Seek out resources, donations, and sponsorships
- Assessment & Data Tracking
- Evaluate student learning through projects, tests, and performance tasks
- Provide feedback and adjust instruction based on student data
- Extended Responsibilities
- Supervise after-school, weekend, and summer activities
- Attend competitions, events, and student project showcases
- Support ongoing program growth and student involvement
