Position:          Agriculture Teacher                               Building:         High School    

Reports to:      Principal                                                         

Assignment:    189 days

                        7.5 hours/day

Job Summary:   The Agriculture Teacher is responsible for planning, instruction, activities, and assessments based on the school's curriculum in the area of Agriculture and Agricultural mechanics.  The Teacher should create and deliver engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and Agriculture proficiency.   Apply teaching strategies and methods that address a wide range of learning styles, individual needs, interests, abilities, and maturity levels of students.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education or related field. Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate in addition to a Valid Agriculture Education Teaching Certificate. Demonstrate competency in the subject area(s) assigned. General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.

POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Current Program Class Offerings: Agri-Science and Technology; Wildlife, Fishery, and Forestry; Large Animal Science; Plant and Soil Science; Diversified Ag. Mechanics; Small Gas Engines; Small Animal Science;  Introduction to Agri-Business; Veterinary Science; Advanced Ag. Mechanics; FFA and Leadership I, II, III; SAE I, II, III. These classes are divided between the two High School Agriculture teachers. 

   

  Classes this position will teach in the next two school years: Agri-Science and Technology; Wildlife, Fishery, and Forestry; Plant and Soil Science; Diversified Ag. Mechanics; Small Gas Engines; Advanced Ag. Mechanics; Introduction to Agri-Business; SAE I,II, III. These classes are divided between the two High School Agriculture teachers. 

   

  Facilities include: Two Classrooms, Large Ag Mechanics Shop, Greenhouse, Outdoor Learning Area, Storage Shed, and Storage Closets.

• Extended Contract: Compensation as found per current negotiated contract and an additional FFA Stipend.
