Summary:
The position of Agriculture Instructor will provide instruction relative to Animal Science courses. Classes will be face to face and distance courses. Significant online course delivery may be required. Additional duties outside of regular business hours (student clubs, department activities, recruiting, etc.) will be required.
Responsibilities:
The faculty member is responsible for delivering college-level instruction for agriculture students through diverse and appropriate teaching methods, preparing and maintaining course syllabi, and meeting all scheduled classes fully prepared. The faculty member will prepare materials to adequately evaluate student progress; report midterm and final grades when appropriate; maintain accurate and adequate records; and establish regular office hours for student consultation.
This position performs other related duties as assigned, which duties include, but are not limited to: advising students on academic programs; serving on committees; participating in faculty meetings; providing recommendations for preparation of departmental or divisional budgets; participating in the development of departmental curricula; and adhering to all institutional policies.
The faculty member is expected to remain current in the fields of animal science and related sciences by reading current literature, networking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
Additional departmental or divisional assignments may be established where appropriate.
Essential Duties-
Teach a full range of Animal Science courses. The exact course assignments are determined by the strengths of the particular candidate and the needs of the Agricultural Department.

Maintain office hours, attend faculty and school meetings, participate in professional development, and serve on committees as requested.

Actively engage in the assessment process, ongoing curriculum development, assist with academic advising, and student recruitment.

Willingness to use alternate delivery methods, i.e. online, as expected of all faculty.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Master’s Degree in Animal Science or closely related field from an accredited college or university

A commitment to teaching excellence
-
Hands-on experience with livestock classes, including, cattle, pigs and sheep

A commitment to distance education and internet course delivery

Valid motor vehicle license at the time of hire and must obtain a Wyoming driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Must maintain insurability under the College’s insurance plan.
Desired Qualifications:

Three or more years of teaching experience at the higher educational level

Terminal degree in Animal Science or closely related field from an accredited institution

Excellent written and oral communication abilities
Work Environment:
A typical work environment is a classroom and office setting requiring normal safety precautions. This position will also work with livestock, requiring heightened safety precautions. The employee may be around smells and/or chemicals associated with livestock. Work is usually performed during the normal operating hours; however, occasional early morning, late evening and weekend work may be required. Short periods of time will be spent outdoors travelling between campus buildings in various weather conditions, extended periods of time may be spent outside when working with various programmatic efforts.
Physical Demands:
The employee must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time, speak, hear, use hands and fingers to handle materials and use computers, feel, and reach with their hands and arms. The employee may have to stoop, kneel, or crouch when dealing with livestock. Specific vision abilities require close up with the ability to adjust focus. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required, less frequent lifting of 50 pounds may be required.

Applicants who are expected to complete their Master’s Degree in Spring or Summer 2026 are eligible for consideration. Any offer of employment is contingent upon the degree being conferred by the faculty contract start date.
