POSITION SUMMARY: The Agriculture Education/Outreach Coordinator is responsible for planning and conducting the collaborative project, "Livestock Disease Outbreak and Preparedness," including planning workshops and documenting the workshop proceedings in collaboration with the Comanche Nation Grant department and Unapologetically Rez professionals. Plan and perform at least one (1) community consultation with livestock producers to orient them to the project aims and objectives. Collaborate with Unapologetically Rez professionals to develop a project communications tracking framework and processes for monitoring livestock producers who receive project information. Work directly with Unapologetically Rez to develop a project evaluation framework and monitoring/ tracking processes, including data collection. The term of this Grant is two years and must be completed within that timeframe.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate the identification and compilation of available resource materials related to the emergency response guide to be produced.
- Work with partner/ resource organizations and individual producers to develop a draft of the emergency response guide.
- Coordinate the review and finalization of the emergency response guide.
- Coordinate printing of the emergency response guide.
- Coordinate the distribution of the emergency response guide through in-person meetings, email, social media, and other channels.
- Collaborate with the Director of Agriculture operations, the Ranch Manager, and the Cow/ Calf Board to set future goals for the Cow/ Calf program. They will also provide recommendations based on their analysis and expertise to help guide all agricultural programs' growth and development
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant agricultural and environmental regulations is vital. The coordinator will be responsible for staying up-to-date with laws and regulations that affect the agricultural program and ensuring adherence
- Effective communication with tribal leadership, colleagues, and external stakeholders is crucial. The coordinator will need to provide regular updates, reports, and recommendations to keep stakeholders (tribal members) informed.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the agricultural operations while aligning with the long-term goals of the Comanche Nation. Collaborate with federal and state programs to access services that provide support, education, and training for the tribe's agricultural programs.

REPORTS TO: Who will this position report to? Director of Agriculture Operations Does this position possess any supervisory authority? Yes
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Be able to drive long distances.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office and field settings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in animal science or related agriculture degree (M.S. preferred)
- Proven experience working with livestock production and/ or animal disease management.
- Familiarity with livestock production in Oklahoma or the Southern Plains region.
- Experience with adult education strategies relevant to the agriculture sector.
- Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
- Knowledge of industry best practices in livestock management, animal welfare, and environmental stewardship.
- Proficiency in data management and record-keeping.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team and interact with stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to changing markets, regulations, and operational challenges.
- Understanding and respect for the traditions and heritage of the Comanche Nation.
