Calhan School District is located 28 miles east of Colorado Springs on Highway 24. Calhan School has long been a vital center of the community and surrounding area. The PK-12 school attracts students from all surrounding areas, drawn by preserving rural education and community.  Academics, athletics, and extracurricular activities, including FFA, Advanced Placement, and Family Consumer Science, offer students the resources and opportunities to enhance learning and prepare for their futures.  Our FFA program has recently received a Gold Chapter rating and has been nationally recognized at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis.

In the Fall of 2022, the Calhan Community voted to pass a bond initiative expressly to construct an 8.5 million dollar CTE facility to house our Agricultural and Family Consumer Science programs.  Construction concluded the summer of 2024.  The facility includes a state-of-the-art welding shop, a wood shop, and two adjoining classrooms for instruction.  The candidate hired will play an integral role in continuing to establish the program within this new facility.
