GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
An Agricultural Showing Center Laborer assists in the overall operations of the center, with a focus on preparing and maintaining facilities, supporting animal handling and care during events, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for exhibitors and visitors.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Setting up and dismantling show equipment and facilities, including stalls, fencing, and signage.
· Performing general grounds maintenance, such as mowing, landscaping, and ensuring clean walkways.
· Operating and maintaining farm equipment, such as tractors, etc., for various tasks including loading, unloading, and transporting materials.
· Assisting with basic repairs and maintenance of buildings and fences.
· Assisting with the cleaning and organizing tools, equipment, and storage areas.
· Perform basic groundskeeping tasks, such as mowing, weeding, and landscape maintenance

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience working with livestock or in a farming environment is preferred.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects, are required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to follow instructions.
- Good communication skills are beneficial for interacting with supervisors, colleagues, and potentially the public.
- Flexibility to work long hours, including weekends, may be necessary during events or busy seasons.
- Work is typically performed outdoors, which involves exposure to various weather conditions.
- The work may be physically demanding, requiring frequent bending, lifting, and standing.
