Job Summary:
Van High School is seeking a qualified and motivated Agriculture Education Teacher to provide high-quality instruction in agricultural sciences. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, standards-based instruction that prepares students for postsecondary education, careers, and leadership opportunities in agriculture. The teacher will support classroom instruction, laboratory experiences, and supervised agricultural experiences (SAE), while promoting student participation in FFA and related activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver instruction aligned with West Virginia College- and Career-Readiness Standards for Agriculture Education.

Provide hands-on learning experiences in agricultural science, agribusiness, animal science, plant science, and related areas.

Maintain a safe and effective learning environment, including classroom and laboratory spaces.

Advise and support the school’s FFA chapter, including student leadership development and participation in activities and events.

Supervise and evaluate student Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs.

Assess student progress and maintain accurate academic records.

Collaborate with school staff, administrators, parents, and community partners.

Participate in professional development and school-related activities as required.

Comply with all Boone County Schools policies and WVDE regulations.
Qualifications:

Valid West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) certification in Agriculture Education is required.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agriculture Education or a related field.

Strong knowledge of agricultural sciences and instructional best practices.

Effective classroom management and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and the community.
Salary:
Salary will be based on the Boone County Schools salary schedule for professional teachers, commensurate with education and experience.
