Job Summary: Teach students in 7-12 Agricultural Science at the high school level. 240 day contract-FLSA Exempt

Essential Duties:

Instruction: Deliver hands-on instruction in agriculture mechanics, animal science, plant science, and agribusiness based on Arkansas state frameworks.

 *FFA Advising: Serve as a local FFA chapter advisor, coaching teams for contests, workshops, and conventions.

 *SAE Supervision: Monitor and guide student Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs).

 *Facility Management: Maintain agricultural labs, greenhouses, and barns.

 *Community Relations: Engage with parents, local farmers, and community leaders to support the program.

Required Qualifications

• Current Arkansas Teacher Certification

• Ability to manage hands-on, potentially hazardous laboratory environments (machinery, animals, chemicals).

• Commitment to student leadership development.

Work Environment

• Includes a combination of classroom teaching, lab supervision, and extensive off-campus travel for competitions and events, often requiring evening/weekend hours.

Other Duties

• Developing and administering the agricultural budget.

• Participating in professional development and CTE (Career and Technical Education) updates.
