A Junior High Agriculture Teacher provides foundational education in agricultural sciences (animal science, plant science, agribusiness, and mechanics) to students, typically incorporating hands-on projects. They act as an FFA advisor, mentoring students in leadership, supervising Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs), and managing agricultural facilities like greenhouses or shops.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum & Instruction: Develop engaging, hands-on lesson plans focusing on agricultural literacy, career pathways, and foundational skills.
- FFA Advising: Guide students in FFA leadership activities, Career Development Events (CDEs), and competitive events.
- Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE): Monitor student projects and maintain records for SAEs.
- Facility Management: Maintain school greenhouses, laboratories, and agricultural shops in a safe, orderly manner.
- Community Engagement: Collaborate with parents, the community, and school stakeholders to promote the program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Education or a related field.

Physical & Environmental Demands:
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in varied indoor/outdoor temperatures.
