Responsible for planning & executing day-to-day winemaking activities from crush through bottling to ensure maximum productivity, efficiency, accuracy, and quality standards. Elements of this position may include oversight of the following activities: grape-to-wine and wine-to-bottle processes, barrel work, onsite and offsite wine monitoring & maintenance, shipping & receiving of juice and wine. May also include special winemaking projects as needed which may include: inventory management, plan development, cellar SOP and Winemaking Protocol (WMP) review and development, sanitation monitoring and other assignments.


  • Assist Winemaking team with executing all winemaking operations to meet production targets
  • Ensure that all wines sent to be bottled offsite are “bottle-ready” and fit lab analysis, tasting, quality and compliance standards
  • Work with various winemaking teams throughout Constellation Brands to ensure wine quality specifications & logistics are followed
  • Oversee purchasing of winemaking supplies
  • Facilitate shipping & receiving of juice & wine
  • Cultivate a good understanding of all winemaking procedures and production protocols
  • Understand fruit sourcing & contribute to vineyard evaluation as needed
  • Maintain short-term production calendar
  • Assist with wine finishing program by resolving issues with wines that do not meet specifications
  • Taste & evaluate wines and blends
  • Participate in management of grape receiving and wine production operations during harvest, as assigned
  • Generate & oversee (follow up on work being completed) Work Orders for wine and wine processing
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the winemaking processes and procedures
  • Understand and comply with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations
  • Learn and develop winemaking skills
  • Represent brand to trade & consumer
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, including 3+ years of wine industry experience and 1+ year of Enology or Winemaking experience
  • Well-developed wine tasting skills
  • In-depth understanding of major aspects of winemaking, laboratory procedures, bottling and production workflow
  • Computer proficient in Excel (intermediate to advanced), Access and Word
  • Good organizational, planning, and presentation skills
  • Clear commitment to high quality and attention to details
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision

Work Environment:
- Works outdoors/indoors
- Works in warm/cold climates
- Works in high places
- Works on wet surfaces
- Is exposed to loud noise, fumes and/or toxic chemicals
- Works near moving, mechanical parts and lift truck traffic
- Must be able to move up to 55 lbs
- Primary office environment may be warehouse/distribution setting
