Ranch Description: Focus Ranch is located 50 miles west of Steamboat Springs, Colorado and 30 miles east of Baggs, Wyoming. Half the ranch is in Wyoming and the other half in Colorado. The Little Snake River runs for about 2 miles through the ranch. We are primarily a working cattle ranch but do take a very small number of guests from spring to fall. The ranch has been in the family since shortly after being homesteaded in the early 1900's and current owners since 1974. We hire a staff of about 7, usually college or post graduate students.

Job Duties: flood irrigation(priority from spring throughout summer); assist with care/management of livestock - receiving in May, shipping, doctoring, calving, branding, vaccinating etc.; fencing;equipment maintenance; haying; dragging pastures; and any other related ranch work that is within your physical capabilities. Training will be provided in areas where needed. It is a position that requires wearing many hats. We run on an average, about 1200 head of yearling spayed heifers as well as about 30 plus head of cows that we calve out every spring. The ranch hands are involved in the day to day operation of the ranch and do the jobs required on a cattle ranch.
