Ranch Employee Wanted:

Learn practical skills and gain the experience necessary to become a top ranch manager. We are looking for a family-friendly employee to take an active role on our ranch under a second-generation owner with more than 60 years of experience and the leadership of one other employee. Our ranch has about 9,000 acres including 500 acres of hayland, 600 cows/heifers, 325 weanlings, and 40+bulls. This position will be gaining experience in the following areas:

• Natural cattle raising under GAP and IMI certifications
• Gentle cattle handling 
• Rotational grazing (including one-wire pig-tail fences and perimeter barbwire fences).
• Calving and tagging
• Maintaining computerized records
• Supplemental feeding in the winter
• Other projects as necessary…

Requirements:

• Must expect long ranching hours, be able to lift heavy objects, and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must go through a complete background and credit check and offer references. 
• Must be good with children (6-15).

Benefits:

• Salary $25,000-$50,000 and dependent on motivation and experience
