POSITION PURPOSE:

We are looking for a Livestock Supply Chain Assistant to effectively manage accounts payable within the livestock division and input and maintain accurate cattle movement records with Agri Beef. This is a highly interactive role involving frequent communication with the Agri Beef Genetics and Livestock teams as well as individuals and businesses outside of the organization. This position is located at the Agri Beef Corporate office in Boise, Idaho. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Record, organize and execute cattle purchase contracts
• Assist in the cattle payment process and be able to fill in if necessary
• Assist in the cattle feeding agreement execution and organization
• Assist in applying and tracking feed related charges for outside feeding locations; ensure accuracy of charges and execution of payments
• Review, input, and maintain information in the cattle management system (CMS) regarding cattle delivery, movements, and shipment
• Will work with grow yards to measure target performance metrics for each location
• Collaborate with NW Pastures Manager and the procurement team to execute procurement activities in the region
• Manage logistics of cattle deliveries including truck orders, rep communication, ensure accurate paperwork and feedyard communication
• Oversee freight orders by communicating with NW Pastures Manager, Livestock Inventory Specialist, freight dispatch, and feedyards to ensure that all freight is correct; logistics and feedlot customer service is maximized
• Participate in ongoing projects and initiatives directly working with the NW Pastures Manager and Director of Snake River Farms
• Consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality
• Provide backup to Livestock Inventory Specialists
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Thorough knowledge of the beef cattle production industry
• Possess a learner’s mindset
• Superior attention to detail

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
• Previous experience working in a livestock or business office a plus.
