Under the general guidance of a lead employee and department manager, perform general turf
care, pruning/trimming, planting, flowerbed care and design, tree care, disease and insect control and weed control. Maintain hardscapes, support trash collection and litter control. Participate in IPM program. Operate grounds related equipment, tools, and machinery.

Support snow removal, disaster response coordination, ADA regulations, and irrigation/drainage
maintenance. Assist with the assignment and coordination of student workers. Other duties as assigned.

One year degree in horticultural science or similar certificated studies plus advanced knowledge
of modern commercial grounds care practices and two years experience working in the grounds maintenance field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Ability to lift or otherwise move up to fifty (50) pounds, to operate commercial grounds equipment and to work outdoors in a variety of climates is required.

Qualifications
