Position Summary:
This position is located at the Northern Piedmont Center in Orange, Virginia. Responsible for daily tasks of general facility operations for the purpose of conducting quality agriculture research. This position is supervised by the Farm Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing land, planting, and harvesting of crops, maintaining equipment, buildings, grounds, collecting data, mowing grass, weed eating, and trimming shrubs. Incumbent must have a valid driver’s license to travel between rented farm land. Restricted to 1500 hours.

Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of the fundamentals of some farm equipment operation and skills to properly operate them; Ability to read and understand labels, manuals, as well as written and oral instructions; Experience growing crops and basic farming practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with operating multiple types of farm machinery; Experience with working with multiple crops; Ability to repair farm equipment; Experience in a research environment.
