Mission

Hands-on supervision of the day-to-day operations of the ranch. Manage and oversee the production of eggs, honey, milk, fruits, and vegetables.

Accountabilities

• Feeding and caring for livestock
• Milking 8-10 cows by hand twice daily
• Feeding and caring for free range chickens
• Responsible for rotating runs for the chicken coops
• Feeding and caring for show birds
• Feeding and caring for 2-3 horses
• Cleaning stalls
• Manually plant, cultivate, and harvest fruits and vegetables
• Perform field work that may include tilling soil, applying fertilizers, transplanting, hand weeding, hoeing, and moving irrigation
• Inspect, repair, and build fences and other related work.
• Other functions may be assigned.

Education, Training and Qualifications

High School diploma from an agricultural school is preferred, at least 2 years’ experience working on a ranch and cultivating fruits and vegetables is required. Experience working with hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears and knives is also required.

Valid Driver’s License is required.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; reach with hands and arms and stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions including seasonally hot or cold temperatures and in climate weather.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Salary/Wage

The salary for this position is $70,000 per year, this a full-time exempt position. Lodging provided onsite.
