Directs, coordinates, and manages of winemaking (Processing) to ensure effective and profitable operation and growth.

Essential Functions:

•Manages and implements the required training of team and ensures adherence to all policies, procedures and governmental regulations.
•Manages and implements career planning and personal development of staff.
•Manages and ensures annual performance reviews are effective and completed on time.
•Formulates and executes current and long-range objectives; develops and implements operational plans and policies
•Establishes controls for operation efficiency
•Directs winemaking activities including but not limited to processing strategy
•Directs cellar & harvest, activities to ensure conformance to standard operating procedures and other related winemaking practices
•Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops wine making staff; manages schedules and workflow
•Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations
•Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance
•Responsible for understanding the Food Safety and Quality Management System and related activities, including the ISO Food Safety & Quality Policy
•Food Safety Responsibility: Report problems, initiate and record actions within the food safety management system
•Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions
•Represents winery at functions as needed
•Assists with planning
•Performs other duties as assigned by management


•Education: B.S. in Enology, Viticulture or related field or equivalent experience
•Years of Experience: 15 or more year’s winery experience in large volume winery facilities including supervisory experience.
•Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates
•Commitment to excellence and high standards
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Basic competence in subordinates’ duties and tasks
•Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
•Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
•Acute attention to detail
•Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and
•Proficient on MS Office Suite
•Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
•Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational
•Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
•Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
•Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method.
•Spanish language skills a plus

Working Conditions:
•Moderate to heavy physical work
•Work site may be any one of Trinchero Family Estates’ facilities
•Standing for long periods of time (8 hours per day)
•Must comply with all safety equipment requirements including ear plugs and safety glasses
•Exposure to various chemicals in production areas
•Exposure to machinery, forklifts and related production equipment
•Long and irregular hours during peak periods or on various shifts
•Extensive walking and lifting of up to 55 pounds
