Huntington University has an opening for an Assistant Professor of Agriculture and Director of Academic Programs
Huntington University seeks a dynamic leader to serve as Director of Academic Programs for the Haupert Institute for Agricultural Studies. The Haupert Institute was founded in 2015 and contains the fastest growing group of majors on campus. This role includes providing strategic leadership, program development and administrative oversight for the Institute.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong personal Christian commitment and faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to serve others
- Must be committed to the mission of Huntington University as a comprehensive Christian University dedicated to educating students to impact our world for Christ
- Demonstrated understanding of Christian higher education
- A Ph.D. in an agricultural discipline (specifically agricultural business or crop science/agronomy) is preferred although other candidates with significant relevant experience will be considered
- Extensive experience in agriculture
- A record of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service
- A demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships with community stakeholders
- Experience with academic leadership roles such as budget management, faculty hiring, scheduling, and academic advising
- Experience mentoring and evaluating faculty
- Positive interpersonal skills and a team player
- Excellent communications skills
- Demonstrated administrative and supervisory skills
- Commitment to continuous process improvement
