Assistant Farm Manager

The Assistant Farm Manager performs the day-to-day work of the Billings Farm, which is a working farm and part of the Billings Farm & Museum. The position assists the Farm Manager and oversees the farm operation in the absence of the Farm Manager. This position has a focus on herd and dairy management, working with the Farm Manager and colleagues to determine the best practices for the herd and setting future herd goals.

Knowledge of and experience in current agricultural practices; 5 plus year's experience managing a dairy farm preferred, herd management and animal husbandry, as well as dairy farm and livestock knowledge including small ruminants, poultry and related farm activities such as hay making and safe equipment operation. A strong focus on land stewardship and sustainability is desired.
