POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Bottling Line Supervisor will be responsible for assisting in the overall efficient operation of the bottling line during bottling shifts. This position will assist in the supervision of multiple pieces of equipment and operators, making sure our standards of quality, efficiency, and safety are met. This position will assist in observing, maintaining, and troubleshooting bottling line equipment and other winemaking equipment. This position will also assist in other areas of the wine production including sanitation, filtration, general processing, and other cellar duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Bottling Line

  • Assist with the overall operation and supervision of all aspects of the bottling line including any personnel assigned to bottling line operations.
  • Conduct proper sanitization, operation and maintenance of all equipment associated with the bottling line and conduct weekly maintenance on all equipment associated with the bottling line to ensure smooth operation and high quality final product during bottling operations.
  • Maintain bottling records to ensure correct reporting of cases bottled and supplies used.
  • Provide final product quality assurance for all products bottled at the Messing Hof facility

Cellar and Harvest

  • Clean and sanitize the winemaking equipment and cellar spaces
  • Barrel filling and cellar organization
  • Proper use and handling of winery chemicals and additives
  • Complete work orders, additions, movements, and other cellar tasks
  • Assist with the crushing and pressing process
  • Vineyard work as required

Production Maintenance

  • Assist in the care, maintenance and problem-solving of all pumps, hoses, and production machinery.
  • Maintenance of entire production area physical plant to include mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and air-conditioning.
  • Assist in purchasing and maintaining stock levels on all backup and replacement parts and equipment needed to facilitate seamless operation in the production department.
  • Perform other duties as required

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Competency Statement(s)

  • 2 years of related experience
  • Ability to operate a tractor
  • Ability to maintain a tractor
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds from floor to 4 feet, climb ladders, and move on top of tanks
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
