Job Summary:

Perform all aspects of monitoring, evaluating and inspecting raw product utilized in the facility ensuring safety, quality, quantity and efficiency. Proactively participate with the Raw Procurement Manager and the raw department to fulfill company objectives. Create and direct policies, objectives and initiatives for the raw department in conjunction with corporate oversight and plant goals. Create and lead a positive and professional atmosphere.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design programs to monitor crop growth characteristics during the growing season. Report crop progress and comparisons to previous crop years on a weekly basis. Conduct storage evaluation and inspection protocols to minimize losses during storage. Create monitoring systems to minimize crop losses during storage.
  • Develop programs to educate growers on best management practices to improve quality of processing potatoes. Co-ordinate information sharing programs to help growers improve yield and quality characteristics. Network with university and industry professionals to identify potential and actual crop risk factors affecting yield and quality.
  • Design and create test plots to research current issues affecting yield and quality. Design and construct research plots to evaluate factors threatening current crop production and quality values.
  • Organize analytical systems to assess quality of crop at harvest and match crop characteristics to customer requirements. Develop monitoring and organize analytical systems which ensure identification and classification of raw material lots to ensure matching raw sources to customer requirements.
  • To maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Keep Raw Procurement Manager informed of daily issues relating to the raw product. To attend and participate in meetings, training and continuing education programs internally or externally as deemed appropriate by management.


  • BS in Agronomy or Science Field
  • 3-4 years of previous experience
