Ellsworth Turkey is a leading provider of high-quality, farm-raised turkeys for the local and national markets. We are committed to providing our customers with the freshest and healthiest turkeys on the market. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Turkey Farm Manager to join our team.

We are currently hiring:

Job Title             Turkey Farm Manager, located in Ellsworth, IA

Job Description:   The Turkey Farm Manager will be responsible for the overall management and operation of our turkey farms.

Duties will include:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the turkey farm, including feeding, watering, and caring for the turkeys.
  • Managing a team of farm employees and ensuring that they are properly trained and performing their duties effectively.
  • Developing and implementing farm management plans to ensure optimal turkey health and welfare, ensuring that all procedures are in compliance with industry
    standards, bio-security and government regulations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all farm operations, including turkey inventory, feed usage, and employee time and attendance.
  • Ensuring that all equipment and facilities are properly maintained and in good working order.
  • Ensuring that all turkeys are cared for in a manner that is safe, humane, and in compliance with industry standards and government regulations.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of new farm projects, including the expansion of the turkey farm and the introduction of new products.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in turkey farming or a related field.
  • Detail oriented, have well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule that includes evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Basic computer skills and be able to read and write English.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Bilingual preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to understand and interpret regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Experience in operating, maintaining, and repairing a variety of agricultural equipment.
  • A valid driver’s license.
