Eurofins Agroscience Services (EAS) is seeking a temporary Agronomy Assisant to work with our team in Lafayette, IN

 

Job Description

Position Overview

This temporary position serves as general backup support to the full-time operations staff. The role involves a wide range of responsibilities including general maintenance, product handling, equipment operation, facility upkeep, and crop sampling and evaluation. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to assist across multiple operational areas as needed.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with inbound and outbound Agronomy products
  • Operate and maintain equipment and drive company vehicles as required
  • Ensure compliance with all company and safety policies
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of facility equipment
  • Maintain facility grounds, including mowing, weed control, and general housekeeping
  • Collect and process samples for crop evaluation and recordkeeping
  • Communicate daily activities, needs, and accomplishments to the Location Manager
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records in accordance with company quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Assist in measuring and monitoring inventory levels of dry fertilizer, NH3, UAN, and other chemicals
  • Serve as a backup to Applicators as needed

 

Qualifications
  • Commercial Applicator License (preferred; must be obtained within 30 days of employment if not already held)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work extended or flexible hours during busy seasonal periods
  • Knowledge of agricultural products, practices, and territory is an asset
  • Acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to bend, climb in and out of trucks, and perform hands-on tasks
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs or more unassisted
  • Work may be performed outdoors and in varying weather conditions
