Livestock Farmhand – Curiosity Farms at Thanksgiving Point

Wage: $14/hour

Shift: Part-time; must be available to work weekends, including Sundays and holidays.

Position Overview:

Curiosity Farms is looking for caring, hardworking, and enthusiastic Farmhands to join our team! As a Farmhand, you will work closely with the Livestock Manager and Assistant Manager to help care for our animals and support our guest programming. This is a hands-on role that combines animal care with guest interaction — perfect for someone who loves both animals and people.

Responsibilities:

Animal Care

• Assist with daily feedings of livestock and small animals, including ponies, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, and poultry
• Support routine chores such as pen cleaning, refilling waters, and stall maintenance
• Ensure the safety of the animals.
• Help with training animals to ensure the safety of guests and team members
• Provide weekend and evening care, including Sunday feeding shifts on a rotating basis

Guest Engagement & Programming

• Assist in presenting daily shows and educational programs about our animals in a fun and approachable way
• Engage with guests of all ages, answering questions and providing memorable interactions
• Assist with hands-on guest experiences, including pony lead rides, animal encounters, and demonstrations

Safety & Team Support

• Prioritize safety and well-being of both animals and guests at all times
• Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a clean, organized, and guest-friendly farm environment
• Help train Guest Experience Team Members on animal safety, proper feeding procedures, and leading pony rides.
• Represent Thanksgiving Point’s mission and values through positive and respectful communication
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Friendly, confident, and enthusiastic about working with animals and people
• Comfortable speaking to groups and engaging with guests in a public setting
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
• Must be available to work weekends and some holidays
• Previous experience with farm animals is preferred but not required
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., bend, stand for long periods, and work in a physically active role
• Ability to make good decisions under pressure and in stressful situations
• Must pass a background check
