General Purpose and Scope of Position:The Business Development Manager (BDM) serves as the lead business contact for corporate farms located primarily in the Columbia Basin. The BDM identifies and establishes relationships with designated corporate farms accounts. Through market intelligence and intimate cost knowledge, the BDM creates and delivers successful competitive product offerings and maintains strategic alignment through constant communication with regional management and business leadership. Responsibilities: ?Specific Responsibilities and

Key Deliverables Include: Continually seek new account and business opportunities consistent with Wilbur-Ellis strategic directionIn cooperation with the Territory Manager, conduct a thorough review of existing and potential customersUnderstand each customer’s bidding process. Develop and maintain timelines, product list, bid sheets and any other required documentation. Establish and maintain close coordination with Wilbur-Ellis personnel to fulfill bidding process requirementsWork closely with crop protection, fertilizer, seed and branded products managers to determine preferred supplier, product and inventory strategy. Have complete understanding of cost position and use this knowledge to establish and maintain product pricing.Develop product demand forecast for assigned accounts.  Work closely with crop protection, fertilizer, seed and branded products teams on cost management and seasonal product demands to ensure adequate supply to meet the awarded bid business requirementsWork directly with legal to develop and review any required contract and supply documentsWork closely with appropriate Customer Financial Services manager on any possible financing needs, establishment of credit limits, adherence to credit policy and monitoring collection of A/R’sServe as a customer advocate for assigned customers across WECO organization to resolve any internal or external issues or disputesRequired Skills,

Key Skills and Abilities Include:Bachelor’s Degree in Ag Business or related disciplineMinimum of 3 years related AG experience in transactional salesStrong agronomy skills and deep industry knowledge of the corporate farm’s market needsBroad experience in distribution, application and use of plant protection and fertilizer productsBroad understanding of business issues, metrics, organizational linkages and customer valueAbility to quantify, track and benchmark corporate farms market risksRequires a Washington and Oregon Pesticide LicenseKey
